About

Robert Roy has found himself on a new journey.  With his passion for visual art and creating, he has  embarked on a new road of artistic expression.  It has taken the form of repurposed and reinvented furniture and accessories.  Vintage and antique finds are combined then redefined into an enhanced, reclaimed and functional piece of art.  Each unique creation brings a story  from  the original piece that he builds from.  His eye for balance, juxtaposition and theme shines through in these reclaimed pieces as with his canvas paintings.

As a self-taught painter, Robert Roy uses thought provoking images to guide his audience into an untold story. How the story ends is up to you. He merely provides a theme which engages his own sense of purity, innocence and strength. These qualities are paramount in his paintings. He likes to include a hint of of something within himself and at times a reflection of his Aboriginal and French heritage. It is not just the image he wants to capture but the light and energy that powers the composition.

Robert E Roy is a long-time resident of Victoria ,BC, Canada.  He paints mainly in acrylics and at times will work with additional fibers and materials to enhance the piece he is creating. His work has hung in designer galleries, cafes  and personal shows. He has had paintings in past juried art shows such as the Sooke Fine Art  Show and Sidney Fine Art Shows. He is available for custom  commissions.
